Ramada Inn Hollywood or suggestions
Hi
Can anyone tell me if this hotel is in an ok area ? Its on N Vermont Av, and according to Expedia is in hollywood/beverly hills. I am looking to stay there next week for a couple of days and plan to go to Universal studios, do the touristy thing around walk of fame etc, and then go and stay in Catalina for a night.
I have stayed in hollywood a couple of years ago at the Banana Bungalows, but am looking for something better this time ! Any ideas ? Would like to spend less than $75 a night.
Thanks

Hi
Our family stayed at this place for a night last spring. The hotel itself is quite nice. It has been newly renovated, and if you get a room overlooking the center courtyard it is quieter. It includes breakfast in the am, and when we were there, lots of tourists were there. The reason we chose this hotel is that we wanted to be close to Universal (about a 7 minute drive), it included breakfast, had a fridge in the room, and we got an entertainment rate of $60.00 including parking and breakfast. For that it was great value.
The area around the hotel is commercial, and very urban. But if all you need is a place to sleep, and you have a car it is fine. In fact quite nice for a Ramada.

Hi HKB:
Me again. If you are looking for something that is just "cheap", try the Days Inn on Sunset Boulevard (the 7000 block). It's in a convenient location and you will be able to walk to the Walk of Fame etc. It's very close to Hollywood High School. There website is showing rates as low as $59. If you are just interested in sleeping and showering, I don't think you could go wrong there. If you want something more upper scale, try some of the places you asked about in your other post. Good luck.

Not sure about the rates, but my family liked the Best Western Hollywood Hills, a neat little hotel situated at the bottom of the hill below the HOLLYWOOD sign. It's within walking distance of the Walk of Fame and Chinese Theater, and has easy access to the freeway for the two or so miles to Universal.

Well, the Days Inn is cheaper and I think much closer than being up on the hill on Franklin for the BW. Their rates are slightly higher, but there is also a Best Western on Highland near the Holiday Inn, so you can try that as well, but Days Inn will be the cheapest. Remember, HKB is looking for 75 and under.

Deborah, and everyone else,
Thanks so much for your help, the Days Inn looks really good, and was remodelled last year and includes a good breakfast spread too. Think that'll be the one I go for ! Better go and book it as I need to stay there tomorrow night !!
