Austin Bachelor Party

Please recommend a place to stay that is close to everything. UT, downtown bars etc. Price is no object. A really nice place that is close to everything. Not to much to ask, right?

The Four Seasons is nicer, but the Driskill (sp?) more convenient (on 6th Street and Brazos) and certainly nice enough.

The Dirskill does NOT do bachelor parties.Or bachelorette for that matter. They are a hotel of historic distinction and as such will not allow a BP.

Actually most hotels will frown on a bachelor party. Expect the hotel security staff to be hanging around looking for a reason to throw you out.

Who are you people? Have you EVER thrown or gone to a bachelor party?

Sure let's plan a bachelor party and tell the hotel that's what we want to do---booze, wild women, cards, carousing-and let them help arrange it! Yeah right. If you guys were in charge of Columbus' trip he would have never left port!! Get real!!!

You order a suite or two and go on about organizing. Perhaps you should "discuss" this with a bellman or head bellman--they often can be "very helpful". If you tell the manager what do you expect them to say???

Just keep a lid on the hoots and hollers and pick a good place.

A wad of $20's for security never hurts if they copme up to investigate noise complaints.

Haven't any of you ever been 28 years old??????

Lots of places to try. Upscale brings more scrutiny but probably more fun. Plan ahead and having some cash around never hurts when you have to deal with unanticipated problems.

Actually a friend had a BP in FtLauderdale. They booked the suite. They greased the palms. They hired their own security spies, yah dah yah dah.The hotel told them up front,no party. They did anyway and I ended up bailing them out of jail.Seems the hotel called the fuzz and charged them ALL with PI.So,I can see the point of being careful and checking out what the hotel wants and doesnt want.

What is "PI"? If it is public intoxication or public indecency where does the public part come in a private room? How wild was the party?

I posted earlier. I do not reccommend any illegal activity. Just some party games amongst friends.

I also posted earlier and advise against doing anything against the law at a bachelor party. Thank you.

Kev-
I was NOT at the party.I was sound asleep when my friend called to come and get him and some others from jail.Apparently, hotel security got wind of the "party" early on.As much as they tried to stay inside the suite, there were a couple of the guys who showed up sloshed to being with. You know how it goes.I gather as soon as some of them emptied into the hall for whatever reason, thats when they were nailed.Security had everyone hawled off.

Not really any hotels between downtown and UT. The one that is probably "in between" is the Marriott on 11th and IH 35. You might try them. If you plan on doing 6th St., I'd try the Omni. If you prefer 4th St (Warehouse district) then perhaps the Sheraton is closest.

I'm not sure how any hotel feels about a BP. But just in case, you might try to avoid the more upscale such as the Driskoll and the Four Seasons. I don't see any harm in a BP if you have a little decorum. (My dad's favorite saying...)
