Atlanta, dining MLK weekend, events

I am "contsructing " a christmas gift and have secured very inexpensive flights to Atlanta (to include using a companion coupon). Hotel reservations are mad at the Ritz in Buckhead. The initial driver of this trip was the opportunity to see the Lovre exhibit at the High Museum. I have also planned it for MLK weekend and would like advice on any events occuring over the weekend. it would be nice to fold in an appropriate tribute to MLK. Also any advice on midtown dining would be greatly appreciated!!!

The Georgian Terrace is okay, but it's seen better days. I've never been in the Hotel Indigo.

If you want to be in the heart of Midtown, try the Four Seasons or the Marriott Suites. Both of them are well located near the High Museum and lots of restaurants.

Definitely the Hotel Indigo over the Georgian Terrace. Definitely the Ritz or the Four Seasons over both. The Hotel Indigo is funky wonderful - the Holiday Inn/ Intercontinental group's first foray into the boutique hotel style - but the rooms are very small. It was formerly a Days Inn. The location is wonderful if you are going to a Fox event, but that would be the only reason I'd choose it over the Ritz or 4S.
