See if United will give you at least vouchers for the $200 per ticket that the fare has decreased.

Thanks Andrew it did not occur to me, now a voucher is in the mail to me.

The rest of you, check out fares to Hawaii where ever you are. United has bargains.

I know that most airlines now charge a $100 change fee so if the ticket you bought last month on the SAME FLIGHTS you booked is now $200 cheaper they will give you a $100 credit towards your next flight (the $200 less the $100 change fee). The airlines are changeing rules daily so this may have changed but worth a try!

I know that some airlines are waiving this change fee when they lower the fares on the same ticket. Southwest Airlines has never had such change fees anyway (even if you change the ticket completely).

The ticket I just purchased is over $400 cheaper than it was a month ago. Do I have to give the airline a refund?

Suze - if you give me $200, I'll settle things with the airline so you won't have to refund them the money...

I got Indianapolis to Chicago for $29 each way in August on SWA, love their no penalty for changing plans policy. I wonder how long it will last....I travel a lot more because of it; I don't hesitate to book.

Check again. Just saw EWR-HNL under $300 all in.

For PHX-HNL.... over twice that. Go figure.

Damn. I purchased 2 RTrips from EWR to Maui for October from American and now flights on United (similar stops scenarios) are almost a total of $500 less!) ... Grrr .. is it worth changing tickets, etc? Have to look into the rules & regulations of those change fees!

Try http://yapta.com/how/

Supposedly they will get you the difference refunded. I haven't used them, but have chatted with others who have been successful.

After reading that, I just went to call up the same Itin I had seen yesterday on United and I was going to call American. Lo & behold, it is wayyy up now - to well more than what I paid on American. Hm ... a one day sale perhaps? I'm positive of what I saw yesterday!

Thanks for the link to Yapta regardless! I'll check that out!
