can i take BART to Yosemite?

Hi,

I am arriving at San Francisco International Airport next week. I would like to visit Yosemite via BART. Is this possible?

Please advise. Thanks

No BART does not leave the Bay Area. But you can take BART to Amtrak and then an Amtrak Train to Merced and then an Amtrak bus into Yosemite.

nope. BART stands for Bay Area Rapid Transit -- and Yosemite is nowhere near the Bay area.

Are you staying in SF - or do you just want to get to Yosemite??? (FYI - If you just want to visit Yosemite, Fresno Airport is MUCH closer than SFO)

Hello dasyeo, here is the official website for BART.

http://www.bart.gov/index.asp

Youn will see that you can take BART into San Francisco from the airport if you wish. Best regards.

BART is a local train. Go to Amtrak website, probably you can get on the bus at the airport.

If not, go to SF by BART to Embarcadero, and from the station it's maybe one block to the Amtrak bus stop.

The train (Amtrak) doesn't go to the city, the connecting bus is included in the ticket price.

You get off the train... forgot it's probably Modesto... there is another bus waiting for you to take you to Yosemite. This bus is either Amtrak bus or YARTS bus.

I'm eating soup and read this post. Oops! There goes my monitor.

Bart Simpson, maybe. BART? Nope!

I really cannot resist this one:
Bart (as in Simpson) does not want to go to Yosemite. Besides he would disturb the other visitors.
(OK, so he injected love into Edna Krabapple's life.)

Seriously, you have already gotten great advice. Anything I say would be as superfluous as the first part is facetious.

No BART to Yosemite. Do you have lodging reservations in place, dasyeo ?

BART will probably build a line to Yosemite before we get anything like it here in Sonoma County.
Sonoma County, lovely place with
no infrastructure.

Sorry to hijack-carry on.

This was the OP's first and only post and s/he hasn't been back. Until we get clarification of what the OP really needs - we can't really help much.

dasyeo - are you out there???

That was one of the funniest post titles I've seen in a while. I think it was a joke at least I hope so. LOL!
