Orbitz? Best time to check?

I'm looking at flights on Travelocity and Orbitz. Is there any time of day or week that is the best to get the best deal? I notice the cost keeps changing all the time or so it seems! I am becoming very frustrated!

If you see what you think is a good price, buy it!! Like you say, they change all of the time. He who hesitates pays more.

Be sure to check the airline's website before you buy.

Yes, the best time to look at the consolidator (Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.) or airline websites is Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at midnight. That is when the sale fares are posted.

I forced myself to stay awake Tuesday night till midnight and was able to purchase (from Orbitz) an RDU to Kona tiket for $828 and get the connections I wanted (this is for a trip after Christmas, over New Years). I had watched the price climb steadily for a week or more up to almost $1,000 for this same ticket. Now I'm a believer. Good luck!

Do you mean midnight Eastern time?

I'll check at this time this week. 12AM Eastern is 9PM where I am.

Now let me add that I was also looking at flights to Philadelphia, and there was no price break after midnight. But, that's not to say there might not be some other week, though it's really hard for me to stay up (with my schedule!) every Tuesday night, so I am just thankful I got the Kona ticket when I did. Those of you on the west coast are in luck - 9PM is a lot easier to manage.

Jenny, Instead of flying into Philadelphia, consider alternative airports which are a lot cheaper in most instances including: New York (JFK, LGA, and EWR) as well as Baltimore/Washington International (BWI).
