What are good prices anymore? Flying from SFO or OAK to OGG in Jan, 2008. Found nonstop RT for just under $400pp(includes all the taxes, etc.) Wondering whether to buy or wait...what would you do?

That looks good to me. My brother is going LAX-OGG next February, and after some searching I found him a $396 nonstop fare on ATA and he was thrilled. I'm pretty familiar with Hawaii fares from LAX, and I don't think SFO is much different.
It probably won't go away just yet, so you may be able to search for another week or two and see what pops up, but that looks good!

Looks like a good fare to me!
One of my neighbors goes to Hawaii twice a year. He's very flexible on when he goes, so he can snag fares at $199 plus tax and fees. He doesn't always get this fare. Sometimes it'll be $250+.
Anything under $400 is good; under $350 is better, under $300 is fantastic.
Check the airline sites themselves: Hawaiian, Aloha, ATA. Maybe one of them will have a special fare.
Have a great trip!

$400 is pretty good. About the best without a sale.
Both Aloha and ATA have sales. So get on their email lists and snag the best price when they offer it.
We usually fly Aloha there (from Oakland) and ATA back since the Aloha flights get in so late.

Hi I was just looking on kayak.com and on the top of the page it lists different topics and more. If you click more there's a list of options one being fare history. Anyway I entered SFO to HNL in Jan 2008 it shows a graph with rates as low as $287. If your dates are flexible it would be worth a look.

Update...well I went to purchase these tickets today and guess what? My outbound flt no longer available at the low price! So I was able to go a day earlier and get the sale price. I should listen to my own advice and purchase when I see a good deal! Anyway, thanks to all who responded!
