Villas Caletas Pricing

I am going on my honeymoon to Costa rica from October 4th to the 14th - I want to stay at Villas Caletas and they just quoted me $160 a night plus taxes for a villa. Is this fair or should i push for a lower rate?

Did you check rates on the Villa Caletas website itself OR via another site, such as http://centralamerica.com/cr/hotel/caletas.htm?

When looking at the CentralAmerica site, they offer villa accomadations for $160 during that time frame. However if you're willing to shorten your stay there, the Villa Caletas (www.villacaletas.com) offers an internet special of 3 nights @ $130 per night for a standard deluxe (possibly a villa) room.

I've stayed in one of their standard rooms, which was wonderful. I would however go for a higher level on the occasion of a honeymoon. And I don't know that I'd spend my entire 10 days at VC; it's set up high overlooking the water and you have to drive down the windy road to get off the property. Certainly enjoyable if you want peace and quiet and pampering.

It was off of their website www.hotelvillacaletas.com/html/indexhtml.html

I beleive that is the main website - They are still quoting me 160 a night - Should i just call their number down there? It seems like 186 a night (160 plus tax) is a bit much for the green season.

Here's a recommendation-try LuxuryLink.com. Last summer (august) we bought a 5 night package at Villa Caletas on there for a little over $700. This included all taxes (17%!), breakfast, one dinner and some other extras. Our room was amazing too with a private jacuzzi on the balcony. I think they still have the package available.

Yes, I just checked and the package is available, auction closing today for $720 for 5 nights in a junior suite. Don't worry if you miss it today, they usually offer it again. I think it was a really good deal.

Yes, we had a fantastic view of the ocean and the jungle below. If you look at my website you can see the photos.
No, you can't make any requests through luxury link, but you can through the hotel. I think pretty much all of the rooms have views.

I had a question about luxury link. If I understand their website they do not guarantee that there will be a room available for a specific time period; therefore, if you have already purchased flights and then buy a nonrefundable package it may not be available for the specific time period. Is that correct? Thanks

Well I did not get it - The package went up to 800 bucks and that was a little too high for me - 800 bucks inlcuded 5 nights w/breakfast in a junior suite with 1 dinner and cocktails.

For a few years in a row Villa Caletas used to have a special of $99 per night in a standard room for the green season. I guess the hotel must have gotten more popular and no longer needs to worry about filling up those rooms during the green season. $160 for a villa does not seem terrible provided it includes breakfast.

Just checked their website:

http://www.hotelvillacaletas.com/indexflash.html

and they still have that special: $99 for a standard room and $130 for a deluxe or a villa (3 nights minimum). They also have 5 nights for the price of 4 special.
