Villa for 4-8 adults
Hello,

I'm starting the research process for a trip to BVI for 3-4 couples (28-32 age range). We'll be going in April/May '04. I want to make sure the villa has an ocean view and is within striking distance of some night life. We're looking at the $500 to $800 per person, per 5-7 night-stay price range. Does anyone have recommendations on Islands to target and also rental companies? Thank you.

You might try a villa on St. John. It is rather quiet though. Not much in terms of night life. You could try this site: http://www.vacationvistas.com/

Thanks for the link! I guess there aren't many folks on the message board who have stayed in villas? I've found some good options, but it's really hard to tell them apart from pictures on a website. If anyone has experience with renting a house in BVI please let me know.

I recommend The Tryall Club in Jamaica. Each villa comes fully staffed with a cook, laundress, maid and gardener. The great thing about this place is that you get to use all of the resort ammenities like the spa, restaurants, pool, and beach (if your villa isn't on the water anyway and all villas come with there own pool.) We had massages right on our beach at our villa! Each villa also comes with a golf cart or two so you can drive around the huge grounds. And if you have any golfers in the group Tryall is a famous course.

Every morning you plan your menu with the cook and the food was great! A fish monger came to our villa and brought us, grouper, 3 LB lobsters, and snapper.

We had a group of 4 couples around the same age as you. And we plan on going back again next year. I could go on about Tryall because we just loved it. Take some time to check out the web site...tryallclub.com...you can see all of the MANY villas there.

Jimmy, I've rented villas on Tortola, but didn't reply at first because they were two bedrooms - not helpful to you. I found them by reading the ads in the back of Caribbean Travel & Life Magazine, and eventually the internet. CT&L ads are now available online at their website. Google is my favorite search engine, put in "BVI villa 4 bedrooms" or similar. Also, if you do a search for "villa" right here on this message board (within BVI) you will find a ton of info. Also try typing in the actual villa name - many have been specifically described on this board. One thing I've noticed, and I've rented villas all over the Caribbean, is that they're actually BETTER in person! Cool! The only detail you really have to be sure of is location. You won't find many beachfront in the BVI, but that's ok - they have a killer view and a pool to make up for it - and breezes you wouldn't get down at the beach.

Which island? Well none of the BVI have much nightlife but you certainly can make your own party! That said, the best island would be Tortola, with Quito Rhymer's place, Bomba's shack, and several hotels with night entertainment. However, driving at night after you've had some drinks is not a good idea with those roads! If that's very important to your group, then Jamaica really IS a good idea - some of those villas even come with van & driver (for additional fee), and of course there's much more nightlife there.

One last thing - I wouldn't let the rental company be the deciding factor. Best to choose a villa you love over a friendly agent. Just my opinon!

Have a great time!

There is a beautiful oceanfront villa on Eleuthera in the Bahamas. You can see it on google, just type in Eleuthera, Capricorn House. We visited there and loved it.You will need to rent a car though as it is very secluded. Restaurant with great food nearby and lots of sun.You can email [email protected] for questions. Maybe the price is negotiable due to the political situation?
