Kempinski Hotels in BA
I am planning on visiting BA with my family (wife and 4 year old daughter) for a few days in early March and am looking for a nice hotel at a somewhat reasonable price. Searching through Expedia, I found what seem to be very good deals at the Kempinski Hoels in BA (under US$100 for what appears to be a very good room, with jacuzzi, buffet breakfast, etc.). Has anyone stayed at any of the Kempinski properties (there are three in BA) or have any comments regarding other hotels of similar quality for the money?

Thanks in advance.

Jason

Jason: Kempinski hotels are very good.
There are four in Buenos Aires: Park Plaza, Chateau Park Plaza, Central Park Plaza and Elegance Park Plaza. Rates go from US$70.00 to $115.00 plus tax.
Which one are you interested in?
There are other nice hotels in the city for less money. Do you like Kempinski´s style?

Honestly, I have never stayed in at a Kempinski property before, but have heard many positive comments about their hotels. I was attracted to them in BA because of their reputation as a very good establishment and what seemed to me to be a reasonable price.

Of the four in the city, I am not sure which one I would prefer. I am travelling with my family on holiday so would want to be near the sites and sounds of BA...maybe in La Recoleta. Which of the four do you think is best in terms of the hotel itself and location?

You mention that there are other nice hotels for less money. What do you have in mind?

Jason

They are all in very good locations. All of them but Central Park Plaza are located in the Recoleta area. I don´t know whether they should give you a triple room because of your daughter or if they can put an additional bed. I suggest the following: why don´t you check it by yourself and find out how much they charge you and then let me know. Send me an email and I will see if I can get the same room for a better rate. Would you definitely like in the Recoleta area? Let me see what I can find.

My honest suggestion is to stay either in the BEL AIR HOTEL, IN A a superior room , or in the Argenta Tower Hotel. Do not be fool by the Kempinski they are not that good. Notice that Cintia s recommendations are dated 2003.

Graziela knows what she is talking about. Listen to her. In the moderate category the hotels she lists are the best available.....NH Hotels, Howard Johnsons Plaza and the Holiday Inn Express are other good choices.

I stayed at the Park Plaza last year in September and I was pleased with their accomodations and location. The hotel is located around the corner from Alvear Street which is kind of the Rodeo Drive of Bunos Aires. The hotel is on a quiet residential street of upscale condominiums. It is very easy to get to most of the tourist attractions. Taking a taxi anywhere in the city is very cheap.

Has any stayed at the Art Suites? If so, can you comment on the comforts of this apartment hotel and its location.
I checked on the BelAir but is is booked for February already and no rooms available.
There is also the Lois Suites Recoleta as a second choice. Any comments out there??
