Iguazu Falls, Estancia or Buenos Aires?

We are in Argentina for a week mid May. We have to be in BA Sun-Thurs as my partner is working. For the rest of our stay i.e. Fri-Sat should we stay in BA (as my partner may not get much chance to wander around during his work days) or go to Iguazu or go to an estancia? Bit about us. We are in our mid 30s, enjoy good food, wine and destinations, like the outdoors, first time in South America tho traveled quite a bit in Europe and Asia. Advice PLEASE!

Hobbes: If your 1st time in B.A. , i think you have too many exciting things to do in town or close( full day tours).
EG: a)Tigre Delta boat tour w/ lunch on board or in a hosteria, b) Martin Garcia Island c) Estancias ( Horse riding) d) Colonia in Uruguay.
Iguazú fall can be done in 2 days , beatifull but not much to see, recomended:
boat to the falls and Helicopter tour.

A week isn't long enough to see all there is to see in BsAs and surrounds.

We spent two days in Iguazu because we were in Argentina for seventeen days. For just a week I would stay in BsAs, especially as your partner won't have much time to explore the city.

You will most likely want to return and you can see other places in Argentina then. We loved Llao Llao Resort and would love to return but it is too far for just two days. We were there for five nights and could have easily spent more time there.

Thanks everyone for this advice - it pretty much matches my thinking esp as on such a short trip I want to minimize our time spent in airports and on flights - we are flying in from Asia so already doing way too much of that but no option there! For our last 2 nights I like the look of the BoBo hotel but seems a bit exp if booked on their website - what travel agents can anyone reco who may help us get a better deal? Thanks again for great advice - you guys are the best!

The BOBO has only 6 rooms,i cant help you with travel agents. If theres no place in BOBO , same style , same neigbbourhood are
Malabia House and bright new Five stars.
The 3 of them are a pleasure, Bobos restaurant very good .

Thanks Santiagov. Was on the verge of finalizing Art Hotel so will now look at this as well. Finding BoBo a bit expensive.

I live in Buenos Aires, you have a lot of options to stay, you may check official travel agencies at www.turismo.gov.ar, you also may check www.bue.gov.ar a useful website of Buenos Aires city, about tourism and accommodations check www.alojargentina.com , also www.hostel.org.ar , all this links have good quality info about Argentina and Buenos Aires.
