Beisanz Beach
We will be staying at Mango Moon in February. I know that the closest beach in Beisanz. Can anyone tell me how this beach is? Is there parking if we decide to drive down? Are there any rentals (chairs, boards....) Is there any food, drinks, vendors. Any info would be great.

This is a very pretty , small, cove beach . There is not really any parking , I guess you could leave the car at the side of the road , before you come down the path through the jungle . Sometimes there are a couple of guys who lay out on the sand some snorkeling gear , and there is a little shack which may or may not be open . In other words bring your own food and drink . No chairs etc. Some chickens , ducks , a few dogs though !!!! Oh ! there is an older American guy who does a type of banana boat tour ? I love this beach , but there are no amenities to speak of . Faith's description is very true. We loved that beach also but it is a small cove like beach with no services. For the types of amenities you are describing (chairs, board rentals, food and drink) you need to be on the main beach in Manuel Antonio (the free one before you get to the park).

Have to tell you , my kids had 2 unique expeirences here. One , the be-heading of a dearly departed chicken by the farmers own dog , eeeeek ..... Two , actually getting to see up close a sadly injured sloth that had fallen from its perch in a tree . Actually on my first trip here 13 yrs ago we were at this beach a lot , no -one was ever here so we decided to go au naturel in the water .Before we knew it about 4-5 young fisherman were swimming in from a boat off shore , OOPS !!! Some scrambling for SURE ! They stayed with us for awhile and actually showed some of their catch , one of which was a hammerhead shark , tiny but impressive nonetheless ! That same day we were caught on the beach in a torrential downpour and actually had a really hard time getting back up the hill ! I LOVE this beach , memories , memories ! Faith .

Oh my gosh. What memories of this beach my husband and I have. We stayed at Parador and walked to this beach. It is amazing. You feel as if you are in paradise for real. No services whatsoever. The monkeys took our bag, as we were amateurs for sure the first time we went, so be careful leaving your bag. We found the most amazing shells ever. We are taking our 3rd trip in May and my definite too do list is the Biesanz beach. There will be a trail from your hotel to the beach. No driving to the beach. From the road to the beach you walk down a very secluded path, past a tico house with chickens in the yard. I could go on and on about this experience.

No surfing at Beisanz , it is a small , calm , protected , cove beach . It is actually just a short walk up the hill , then down the hill to espadilla . You do not even have to go up to the main road . And this is actually where a lot of good surf is . You take the road towards Makanda FROM the main road , instead of veering right at the fork, which leads to Parador and Beisanz , you go left which takes you to the far end of Espadilla .

Thanks faithie. We are planning a trip in June and surfing is a high priority for us. We'll be up in Playa Grande for a few days then heading down to Manuel Antonio. Very excited as we've only been to CR once and stayed entirely up in the northwest, can't wait to see MA Nat'll Park!!! Trying to figure out where to stay so we can walk to the beach and surf and still be convenintly located near the park. We will have a car and as I'm learning most of the hotels near MA are not on the beach, so we may have to sacrifice that and just pack our boards in the car and drive to the surfing beaches.

Ardie , take a look at Karahe , it is basically on the beach , green season rates are reasonable . Also any of the efficiency rooms at Costa Verde ( approx 60.00 green season ) would be good . Is this a budget trip ? The local buses are only about .25 per pop .

Thanks for the help! We are on somewhat of a budget and would splurge on the right place. We were also looking at Mango Moon or Verde Mar as those seem to be on the beach also. Since we'll be on the beach in P. Grande and in Dominical I think we may go for the great views in MA, maybe Costa Verde. Thanks. Love the stories

Mango Moon is very nice , really pretty and romantic, on the little road to Beisanz , u get a beautiful view , but not the view to Punta Catedral etc. For THAT amazing view , Costa Verde 2 ( TERRIFIC VIEWS ), also I believe B building at Costa Verde 1 , and any of the D-units ( all efficiency at 65.00 , especially rooms 2 or 4 ) give an amazing view of the park . Not to mention , the howler monkeys , capucin , spider , all next to your room ! It was surreal ! When we go back , for the value , amount of time we spend in the room , proximity to park , and amazing view , we will stay in the D-Unit ( 2or4) at Costa Verde . ( we have 2 kids ) Faith

Just to start the day off and wet your appetite for your adventures to come in Costa Rica , the Capucin monkeys are meat eaters ! Our last day walking up the little driveway from D-Unit they were making a terrible ruccus , we stopped to watch , and plop ..... a lovely , green , and well .... RED iguana arm ( or leg ) fell right in front of my 6 year old son . He loved it !!! Nature lover that he is ! COOL , were his exact words ... Hmmmm , what does this mean ?
