That last post is as clear as mud !! Punctuation please !

Do you mean: "Nurses beach. If you are a tour operator it's Lumihai beach".

Or do you mean: "Nurses beach if you are a tour operator. It's Lumihai beach".

Isn't this the beach that everyone warns you not to swim at because it is really dangerous? Lots of drownings?

It's a very dangerous place to go for a swim, due to the large size and unpredictability of the surf. One Hawaiian interpretation of the word Lumihai is "death by drowning."

I have not heard about "lots of drownings here". I don't think it is a swimming beach and that is something you need to mindful throughout the island. It is either a swimming beach are a dangerous beach. The later will tell you in the way of a sign. I believe Lumihai is a non-swimming beach.

We went on a Napali sail with Captain Sundown which leaves from the north shore. The captain pointed out Lumihai Beach as the one that was the site of South Pacific and then he said do not swim there. He then proceded to tell us over and over not to swim there and of all the drownings that occur there each year. He made sure we all knew that the beach was dangerous becasue of the location and the currents.

Just walked on Lumihai a few days ago. It is not a good swimming beach-- the locals call it "Lumi-die".
