I am sure you will get a more detailed response than mine, but I have a little information. We did not stay there but we ate at the hotel's restaurant. The food and service were wonderful, and the hotel looked very nice. From what I saw I would certainly consider the hotel. Hopefully someone else will have beach information for you.

Hi Jen,
There are actually 2 beaches at Camino Real. The beach for the main part of the hotel is rather deeply sloped and can get busy.
The beach for the Club Tower portion of the hotel (more expensive rooms) is smaller but - in my opinion - much nicer. It is protected by a rocky outcropping and is quiet and calm.
For people looking for wide sandy beaches, the ones at the other end of the hotel zone are nicer.
One of the good things about the Camino Real is that it is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, and the views from the upper rooms of the Club Tower are unmatched in Cancun.
Having stayed in two of the 5 star hotels in Cancun, I found the Camino Real is a good value for the money.

The Camino Real is a very nice hotel, conveniently located and a great value but the beaches there are not the greatest.
