Airport question to Mexico/Dallas?

Heading to Queretaro and Guanajuato from east coast through Dallas and on to Leon. We have an hour and 20 between arrival and departure. is this enough time in Dallas to change planes? we are on American. We have same layover on return, is this enough time to clear customs? Thanks

If flights are on time, or fairly close to on time, it should be no problem. I have changed many times in Mexico City with only one hour and have made it including customs and imigrations. Likewise have made many national and international connections in an hour. So, you should make it.

Your luggage will be checked through and will clear customs at BJX on the way down.
On return, DFW is way more efficient than IAH, and the baggage handoff is easy.
We have never had a problem with a 1:20 "window".

It will be plenty of time going, but might be a bit tight on the return when you have to go thru customs.

Doing it yet again next week on the journey to JFK - BCN, and after maybe 28+ arrivals, no problema.

Going - YES
Coming back - NO because you must go through immigration and customs in Dallas

I wouldn't say "no" for sure, just very tight on the way back, because...

Realize you will have to: get off the plane, claim your checked luggage at a carousel, line up & go thru customs, re-check your suitcase with the airline at a handy check point or desk right after customs, then walk to your next gate.

Well, you have opinions from some who live in Mexico and have done the trip dozens of times and others who feel differently, lol.

Add to Suze's list: On the way home, after you recehck your bags, you go through security again. That's always a roll of the dice how long that will take. Then "walking" to your gate, a lot depends on where that gate is, although each terminal at DFW has two Skylink stations that transport you to other terminals if need be.

hour and 20 minutes should be enough time. A breeze if you a doing carry-ons. Skylink to another terminal will take no more than 10 minutes and they run every 2 mintues. I would have all my papers in order to speed up the process.
