ZURICH AIRPORT TRANSIT - CONNECTION INFO PLEASE

Hello, we are flying MIA-ZUR-HKG on SWISS with an 11 HOUR layover in ZUR. On our return from BKK, we have an overnight layover 7:30pm to 9:15am the next morning in ZUR on our way to MIA.

Question: what is best way to get some rest (we can use SWISS Business Lounge - traveling in Bus Class) but they close at 23:00 on our return. Any options? Can we leave the airport to an airport hotel? Will it cause a mess with immigration? Haven't done this in a while with such a long layover.

Thanks for any advice.

It takes 15 minutes to get from ZRH to the city by rail. There are several hotels near the airport; whether or not you want to stay in one of them, go onto town for the night, etc., is up to you, obviously.

Obviously it depends on your nationality. If you are required to get a visa to enter Switz then you will need to do so if you plan on leaving the airport (which seems necessary).

Some European airports have sleep lounges or small sleep places/private. Might research the Zurich airport and see if they have something like this. Don't know about immigration issue, you need to research this. Most airports have nearby hotels to catch some sleep too as noted above. I think I'd opt for an airport hotel and get a visa if needed for good rest. Sue
