Zurich Hotel recommendation?

I need a hotel near the airport. My parents will be arriving a day prior to us. We will fly in, rent car, and pick them up.

Can you please recommend hotel that will be easy for us to pick up parents and head off for our trip? I think we'll be heading to Stein en Rhein from there. Parents are elderly, so need modern hotel w/ elevator and dining room.

Thanks, annie

There are quite a few, many have been mentioned here before. I suggest that you do two things:

A) On Google, enter Kloten hotel (Kloten is the town nearest to the ZRH airport), hotels there are used to guests needing airport transportation, many have shuttles, and even a cab is no big deal. There is a good suburban train link into the city of Zürich from Kloten, so it is ideal.

B) Enter the words Zurich airport hotel (and variants thereof) into the search field above and read up on previous dicussions on this topic.

Thanks. I do use the search field often, but hoping to get a specific recommendation for a hotel.

If anyone has a suggestion for a hotel near airport that you think fits the bill, let me know.

Thanks, annie

If you are comfortable with Priceline, you could try that. There is a Renaissance that isn't too far away from the airport. Just make sure you specify the airport region (Glattbrugg) and stay with four stars.

We used the Park Inn near the airport. It was very clean, had a restaurant as well as a McDonald's and an airport shuttle. It was also very reasonably priced for the area.

I am right now staying at the Park Inn by the airport. It has a McDonalds on site as well as the hotel restaurant, which isn't bad.

Price is reasonable (about 150SFr) and yes, there is a shuttle to the airport. We happen to have a car, which is costing 20SFr per day to park in the underground garage here.

We are here for our second time on this 3-wk trip, as we thought the place was so convenient for us about a week and a half ago... we returned!

Carol (in Zurich right now)

Carol, thank you. My father uses a walker so stairs are a bit of a challenge (a couple are OK, just not a flight). No problem for him to get inside hotel and to the restaurant? Thanks, annie

Am I too late to recommend the Zum Goldenen Kopf in Bulach? It's my splurge the night before my return flights. A historic building in a charming town center, good restaurant, elevator, nice people, on the way to Stein amR. It's a 15 minute bus ride to the airport, so quicker if you're driving. J.
