Which Paris Hotel?
We will be spending 4 days in Paris over the Easter weekend and will be joined by our daughter for 3 of the nights. We have bookings at 2 hotels.
The first is the Hotel du Champ de Mars which can give us a rollaway for our adult daughter and the second is Hotel Turenne which has a triple room but doesn't seem to get as good reviews or seem as nice. Both cost 106 Euro a night for 3.
I will need to make a decision soon and cancel a booking.
Can anyone help with experiences of either hotel?
Our daughter doesn't mind the rollaway but if the rooms are small it could be difficult.
Thanks for any feedback

Rosie my advice is book a hotel that gives you two adjoining rooms with a shared bathroom.
We have stayed at the Best Western Elysees-Maubourg, 35 de La Tour Maubourg, 75007. Unfortunately I think it has changed it's name but here is the fax: 47 05 65 08 & Ph: 45 56 10 78.
The last trip I did to Paris I had my own room but my three friends insisted on one double room with an extra bed.
Boy were they squashed! Very unpleasant especially if two are complete slobs.

I would think long and hard about the rollaway. When my friend and I were given only one bed in Paris a few months ago (instead of two twins) we asked for a rollaway. Well, not only could it barely fit into the room, but the bed itself was really horrible..junky thin mattress, not nice at all. (We did not use it)
So unless your daughter can sleep on anything, I would take the lesser hotel with the better accommodations.

Sorry RosieinOz - I meant to tell you our two adjoining rooms each had their own TV and now that I think of it they may have EACH had a shower & loo as well.
We were there for Easter and on Sunday morning the church bells were ringing as we joined folks walking to the service. We were walking to the Eiffel Tower and on the way all the pastry shops had beautifully decorated chocolate eggs in the windows.

I know it isn't what you want to hear, and I do hope someone can give you the feedback you need.
But we had a triple in the Hotel Palais Bourbon, which was roomy with 3 individual beds.
It was not as inexpensive as those you are looking at, but I believe it can be had for under 140.
I would suggest a cheap apartment, too. Your time line is a bit short, but we saw apartments with a big bed and a convertible bed. Although I hear the fold out beds can be very uncomfortable.

106 euro for the 3 - At this price you will probably regret it. As it is your ADULT daughter can we assume that she is earning money? If so then i respectfully suggest you get another room, it will not need to be connecting. IF you want to share a room with your adult daughter then i would suggest you go to one of the well known brands of hotel and be garunteed a true tripple room. Costs will be around 170 - 225 euro a night for a decent comfortable place. Remember this is a major european capital city

I know both those hotels, and both would be fine were you not looking for a triple. That rollaway cot will almost certainly be a clunky iron foldout with the thinnest imaginable mattress that will fill the room up to the point you won't be able to move without stepping on beds.
That's a great neighborhood, but I suggest you spring for the extra money it will take to book a quad or chambres communicantes at either the Hôtel de France on the Blvd. de la Tour Maubourg or the Duquesne-Eiffel on the Avenue Duquesne.

We are on a long - 3 1/2 month - trip and she is living and holidaying in Italy on savings until she can find work. This is a chance to spend a few extra days with her in an amazing place.
Anyway thanks for the input, it's all food for thought.

We stayed in a corner twin room at Hotel de Turenne in April 2001. I've read that the rooms have been 'refreshed' since then. Ours was serviceable and clean, with some 'wear and tear' such as nicks in the furniture. We had no complaints about it at all, except that we do like a frigo and they don't have them. The breakfast was fresh and basic, with good coffee, served in a tiny room.
There was an ATM and laundromat on the side street, and alimentaire the next block, and we ate at Brasserie Ecole Militaire a couple of times - good food as many of these types of places have but nothing extraordinary.
I would rather have a 'real' bed than a rollaway. Was there a photo of the triple room at Turenne..?
