Which Madrid hotel??? Can't decide!

We'll be staying in Madrid for 3 days (really 2 since the third will be a day trip to Toledo). Anyways, we're a family of 5 (three kids), would like a convenient and safe location (would like to be within walking distance to metro, museums, cafes/stores, and parks). We prefer clean hotels with enough room for our kids to get a good night rest! My husband also requires free wifi connection (if the hotel is really good, and the wifi isn't expensive then that's ok too). I'd like to get 2 rooms under $200 a night.

I have narrowed it down to:

HUSA PASEO DEL ARTE
Petit Palace Londres

Which do you think would be appropriate for us?

$200 for two rooms? And what you describe is the the perfect hotel!

$200 UP per room per night is more likley in the Husa chain. But you never know especially at the less plush Moncloa, next to the Princesa.

You mention the Husa Paseo del Arte should be very good and well located for the museum triangle. But it will likely not fall in that budget. With three kids though you might consider it because they probably have a good buffet breakfast which will give them lots of choices and you less hassle in starting your day. So IF you can get that INCLUDED in the price, all the better. Have you looked at their website for deals? http://www.husa.es/en/nuestros-hotel...blacion/madrid

I did stay at the Husa Princesa and liked it very much.
It was located next to a Corte Ingles which may also come in handy for you with the kids and needs that pop up.

Sorry laynlustotravel, I have never traveled with kids. You need to peruse the many posts here re family hotels in Spain.

Here is a link I found too. http://www.travelforkids.com/Family-...ily-hotels.htm

I am not familiar with those hotels. I think I might have already recommended the El Prado, but maybe it was not you . In July I will be paying 66 euros for a double and it has wifi (well, at least I know for a fact they have a couple of computers that guests can use for free). Last year we had two rooms, one of them was a triple. They were of a good size, with a nice, modern bathroom. The hotel is on Calle Prado, very close to the Museums and Plaza Santa Ana. It is considered a 3 stars.

We just got back from Madrid and the El Prado is great. All the museums are just a few steps away.

Not done with construction yet, but it wasn't a problem. The taxi dropped us off right in front of the hotel, and the double-pane windows in the room cut out any noise. (Well, okay, the soccer team won a big game while we were there ... I doubt anything could have dampened the excitement noise on the street!)The short walk to the museums was definitely less attractive with the ongoing construction but, really, it was a minor inconvenience.

Hey Just27, I must have been at the Hotel El Prado with you. We stayed the night of that big soccer game. For the four nights we were there, the construction moved along to a different spot each day as it progressed. Location was perfect between Prado Museum and lovely Plaza Santa Ana. Anyone else reading this, I vote for Hotel El Prado.
