This is where you get the bus back to airport, you can see the bus stop on the left of the picture. The restaurant is in the upper part of picture, just at top of steps. At bottom of steps is public bathroom. This is NOT where you get dropped off; I'll post a picture of that. It is across the street and down a bit.

This is where you get off the bus from airport. As I said above, we mistakenly went back here to get the return bus. We didn't realize it was the wrong place. We saw the bus stop here when we were head here. So we waited for it to turn around. When it came back it was across the way and we ran to try and get it but we were too far away. By the time we got to the bus stop shown above, it was leaving. We had to wait over an hour for the next bus. It was in early October, so not the busiest time of year, so I guess the bus runs less frequently, especially at that hour of night -- maybe 6 or 7 pm

OK since Rafina was mentioned, which is a place that i don't like very much, especially the harbour.... here is a good alternative :

Great location, over a beach with great views and decent food.
It is only a very short taxi ride from the harbour of Rafina.

Hi shushu,
I'm not really a souvenir buyer, so usually end up bringing home Greek honey and olive oil. You could have a look around the shops in Fira and Oia on Santorini, but prices there would probably be geared to the cruise ship visitors, and be accordingly expensive. Nevertheless, that would give you a good frame of reference for Naxos, which has lots of little shops in the narrow passageways below the kastro (castle).
On Naxos you may be able to find figurines made from Naxian marble, the stone used in many ancient sculptures. I found this website which may give you some ideas:

Keep in mind both honey and oil have to go in checked bags. And well wrapped!!
I brought honey from US to US Virgin Islands as a gift a few years ago. I wrapped it REALLY well, including putting it in a small box.
Imagine my not so happy face when I realized upon arrival, that the honey had been opened - perhaps tasted?? -- and then closed up improperly!! Quite the mess!

That sounds horrible, DebitNM! I hope it didn't ruin too many things in your suitcase.
You can buy honey and olive oil in a shop inside the International Departures area after you go through passport control at Athens Airport. These liquids are put in a sealed bag which can be taken aboard the aircraft in your carry-on bag. I've done this many times on direct flights to my destination, but wouldn't try it if I had to transfer to another flight on the way home.
