What to do Easter Sunday in Paris?

I am taking my 12 year old DD to Paris for Easter break. It is her first trip and my second. We will have 7 full days and nights.

I have the usual list of day trips and sights to see. I am just trying to put the puzzle pieces together of what is closed when and what to avoid on certain days. I always travel off season and this may be my first experience with long lines/crowds.

Any suggestions on the best way to spend Easter Sunday?

We did a Fat Tire Bike Tour on Easter Sunday 2 years ago. For a few different reasons we chose that day:

- many museums would be crowded
- less traffic to navigate with the bikes (altho I was impressed with how well they manage this!)

It was a fun way to spend Easter Sunday without paying a ton for a fancy meal and without dragging fancy clothes.

How would you spend Easter SUnday at home? There's nothing that different about it in Paris.

Since Easter Sunday happens to be a Sunday, it is no different from any other Sunday in terms of what is open or closed.

What you need to know is that Good Friday is a normal business day and Easter Monday is a holiday.

uptown,

My daughter and I were in Paris last Easter. The museums are open as are the churches. Restaurants too. I think you will find you can basically plan Easter Sunday as not very different from the rest of your trip.

On Good Friday you may want to go to Notre Dame for the Crown of Thorns. It is quite a spectacle, but be aware the crowds are huge.

How would you spend your Easter Sunday at home?

Well, I go to our family crawfish boil.

My daughter saw the word "l'ecrevisses" in her French book and is now convinced we will be able to have boiled crawfish.

Thanks for the suggestions. The bike tour sounds wonderful.
