See that you are a new poster.
If you want us to help you you really need to give us more info.
Hotel - what is your price range, and are you looking for full-service place or is a modest B&B OK.
What to do - what are your interests? You must have picked Prague for a reason - what in the guide book or web site or travelbrochure made you decide to go there. That will help us make recos.

Is that US dollars? wow, I think that would be a hostel. The value of the USD vs. CZ is pretty bad and has been for several years.
As for two days time -- try reading timeout.com online or some other online guides and they will give you the highlights. I think www.inyourpocket.com includes Prague.
Very briefly -- castle complex, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, parts of the Jewish museum (which includes some historic synagogues).

Another option is getting a room in someone's apartment. Since Prague was not damaged in WWII there are a large number of truly elegant (1900 - 1920's) apartment houses in the central area - and many people rent out spare rooms. A friend of mine did this - got a great place for a minimal price, leaarned a lot about the city/culture - and got her laundry done for pratically nothing.
If you go to the tourist office - she went to one downtown but I think they also have one in the main train station they will refer you to options.
(Agree that for $60 any hotel is likely to be either truly awful or in the far suburbs. Don;t know about hostels.)

Hi D,
Try The Castle Steps
http://www.pragueroom.com/
It is within your price range. I am staying there in July so can't vouch for it but it gets good reviews on Lonely Planet.

If you ask Google for In Your Pocket Prague you will find a good annotated list of hostels and hotels, and notes on what to see and do. I think they do not go outside Prague, so I want to suggest a morning in the concentration camp at Terezin, open daily at nine, and free.
The site http://jizdnirady.atlas.cz/ConnForm.asp?tt=c&cl=E5 shows a bus daily at 0900 from Florenc bus station to Terezin at 09.57. After Terezin you can take a bus in 15 minutes over the river to Litomerice, a fine town with a good baroque square, restaurants, museums, churches, and busses back to Prague. It helps balance the mind after the horror of Terezin.

Go on some websites that list multiple properties, & see what the prices look like for September.
www.marys.cz
www.travel.cz
Also, check www.expats.cz - you might be able to sublet a place for a few nights. Lots of listings there, and it might be your best bet for sticking to that price range, without getting a room in a hostel.
