Vatican Garden Tours

I thought it would be nice to do the Vatican Garden Tour in the morning before our Scavi Tour in the afternoon. Here's the problem. You can apply online, but it says that the confirmation will likely not be send until up to one day before the requested date. Additionally you will not be allowed entrance without a PRINTED copy of the confirmation. Since we're leaving tomorrow -- almost a month before the requested tour, and because we'll be in an apartment, and since I don't travel with a printer -- I don't see how this can possibly work. Do you?

Well, you could go to an Internet cafe to read your email and print it.

Duh. Why didn't I think of that? Now, I go to the bookmarked site I had and it won't come up. I was going to www.mv.vatican.va, but I can't seem to get it any more. Googling has dead ended me except for some private agencies that charge a fortune to book.
Any one know how to book the Vatican Gardens tour?

Hi Neopolitan, I think their site is down. I have been trying all day to access it myself.

Neo, be sure to ask at the internet cafe if they can print for you, I was in two of them in March and neither one had printing equipment.

Is the tour the only way one can see the gardens?

hmm. the site has been down for three days if that's the case. I've been trying since Sunday.

I have never printed at an internet cafe. Some of them do enable you to print?

I don't know if it isn't allowed but I wanted to print a new E ticket from Lufthansa and neither place would/could let me print anything.

The last time I was in the "Easy Everything" internet cafe at Piazza Barberini, they do have instructions on how to print something.

Neopolitan, Why don't you e-mail your hotel and ask where you could print out your reservations? I'm sure they could help.

missypie - from everything I've read, the only way to see the Vatican Gardens is on a tour, although if you climb to the top of St. Peter's you get a great view.

and be sure and take your photo ID so you won't have to go back to your apartment and get it like I had to do.

Sorry Neoplitan, I see you are staying in an apartment. I'm sure you will find an internet cafe that will let you print, however. have a good trip.

Well, now I know why the website couldn't be accessed for a few days. They redid it. The new one ONLY allows you to book by fax and confirm by fax. I have no idea where to give as a fax number to receive the confirmation. They sure make this difficult.
