I believe you are staying at Hotel Giglio? They can arrange winery tours for you. We enjoyed Altesino winery (they also had olive oil). It was more of a private tour and since the weather was so nice, we did our tasting outside. Lovely...
Castello Banfi was a pretty drive, and I enjoyed their dessert wine.

Jenny,
I have the following names of winerys:
Avignonesi in Montepulciano
Castello Banfi in Montalcino
Altesino but I dont know where it is
Il Picciole for olive oil
I am not recommending anything as we are going to be in Tuscany in the middle of Oct. These are the names I have collected so far. Anyone know about any of these?

Altesino is down the hill from Montalcino. You can see Montalcino from the winery. Sorry, I don't have specific directions, but I'm sure your hotel can help you out better than I can. If I can find my map, I'll try to give more info.
