tROUBLE GETTING RESERVATION IN ROME

We are only able to stay in Rome 2 nights before proceeding to base of Positano.
I have tried 5 hotels and none are available.
Is it possible there is a minimum stay they are not mentioning? Or could they all be filled by coincidence?
Getting worried!
My dates are 9/23 and 9/24 for Rome
thanks

Can you tell us where you've checked, your area of preference and your price range?

September is a fairly busy time in Rome. I'd believe that they're full up. You may have to compromise on your choice of accomodations, and either book in another area of Rome, away from "centro storico" or possibly try a convent or monastery type of place. Just out of curiosity, where have you tried?

Hi zee,

You are trying to book hotels in Rome now for this Sept?

Try www.venere.com

I am reserving for the end of october and have found many places increasingly unavailable. The first to go apparently have been the convents, which in some places were my first choices.

but some people seem to say that there are always rooms available when one walks in off the street?

Unfortunately I am posting this from work so unable to tell you the names.
Would have to do this from home.
Thanks

I don't believe that there are minimum stays. I booked the Albergo del Senato for 2 nights (9/14,15) and the Villa Del Pio ( 9/21 only), just 3 weeks ago.

Keep trying every day, as hotels have liberal cancellation policies and rooms may open up at the last minute.

A friendly email request asking to contact you when something opens up may be something that may work.

If you are still looking for a place to stay in Rome, try the Lancelot Hotel. I stayed there this past April and found it very pleasant. It is in more of a neighborhood just a couple of block East of the Colloseum. I found it fun to walk past all the ruins of the forum every day as we went out to explore. It aslo had convenient service from some of the smaller electric buses that could wisk you quickly to almost any site in the city.

Hope this info helps.
