train from rome to naples
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if I need to make a reservation for the train from Rome to Naples? I have the schedule but am wary to make a reservation in case our flight is delayed into Rome. We will be travelling in August which I know is high season and I wasn't sure if an open ticket would guarantee us a seat (there will be 4 of us)
Thank you very much!

If you're taking the Eurostar then reservations are mandatory and are included with the ticket.
Last time in Rome the plane landed on time (or a few minutes early) but it took an hour for the bags to arrive (overseas flight). Allow plenty of time to collect your luggage and plan your train travel accordingly.

Hi lauren,
It took us 3 1/2 hr after the plane was scheduled to land to get our luggage and get to Rome TE. (0800 to 1130)
We had made reservations for the 1230 ES* and spent a pleasant hour at the train station having lunch, people watching, and getting used to being in Italy.
