Anyone have any thoughts on Swiss Air. I have heard some not so great things. I am thinking of flying business class LAX-Rome next summer. Anyone have any good or bad experiences?

I've flown on Swiss several times and have always had a nice flight. My next flight on Swiss is Sept. 27 from Nice to ZRH then AA back to Dallas.

I flew on Swiss air in 2001 and was a nice flight. I was very happy with everything.

The Swissair in 2001 is not the same company as Swiss International of today.

The old Swissair collapsed and ceased operation on 10/2/01. The current Swiss International was formed from Crossair, which used to be regional partner of Swiss Air, and started operation 3/31/02.

My last Swiss International (Code: LX) was in August from Far East to UK via Zurich in Business. As part of the Lufthansa group, in-flight service and ethos are quite similar, but I felt the staff try a little bit harder to please, compared to their bigger brother. Good food and drinks, nice amenities kit and AVOD with big personal LCD screen. Seats are very similar to LH's 'new' Business Class seats - 170 degree recline and decent leg room, but not as comfortable as 180 degree flat sleeper seats on BA. Nice lounge at ZHR with an enormous bar upstairs.

Thanks for all your thoughts. It sounds like a good airline. I am going to book on Swiss Air.
