I'm looking forward a great summer destination that will be a solution for my checklist that I'll show you in a moment. I'm 17 actually and since my father passed away last summer we had no mood and occasion for a together holiday with my mother and maybe my siblings (all 3 aged 21-27).

This summer, as one year of mourning will be gone I'd like to plan a wonderful holiday. My checklist that needs to be covered includes a sunny place (maybe an island) in Europe, which is not too far from my country (Poland - mid-east Europe), not too hot (my mom is struggling with high-blood pressure which causes in swallen feet etc) but it should have a beach - I love to lay on a beach, read a book and swim in the sea. The place also should not be as a touristic mekka as Egypt f. e., but it also should have some nice facilities. Finally, accommodation. I'm looking for a nice (all-inclusive preferably) hotel which is not one of those huge resorts, but it should have a pool. If you have visited a particular hotel like that, please make sure you'll tell me about that! Air conditioning is a must-be.

Pricing - not expecting budget holidays with that preferences, but the top limit is approx. €500 / person / 7 nights (without travel - flight etc)

How about France - Carrefour, the hypermarche, is also a leader in packages stays at places you seem to want. And as long as you are not a Polish plumber you will be very welcome in France!

Northern France can be too cool IME for swimming or even beaching at times even in the dead of summer - try for something in mid to southern France - seasides on the Atlantic are never really boiling hot I think.

What about your neighbors along the Baltic? Not Russia (Kaliningrad) because it's Russia, but somewhere on the Lithuanian/Latvian/Estonia coast?

How about some place in Croatia which is much less expensive than France and more in line with your budget. I'm sorry I can't help with the details of hotels, etc. but one of the islands might be nice.

The thing is that we've visited Croatia about ten times through last 15 years, but however, I won't mind travelling there.

For an all inclusive resort I think your budget is very low for most of europe (even cheaper places like Spain and Portugal - which will be HOT).

Have you googled for budget resorts?

adrienne - French folk use the Polish plumber thing as a red herring against immigration - soon after Poland joined the EU and gave its workers the right to travel around the EU the Polish plumber thing kept coming up - that all the plumbers in France were now plumbers, displacing French ones with cheaper labor. It was a bogus charge as far as I can see but was a popular phrase.

The Greek islands are going to be too hot for your mum, as are the Canaries. The Balearics are also very warm in the summer as are all the other Med islands.

Your budget for all inclusive is a bit low at €71 per night and it's a bit of a trade off therefore between cost and heat. You may have to keep mum in the shade and head for the cheaper areas of Mallorca,the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca.
