Spain - Italy
We arrive at Alicante in July and want to spend a week in Spain and then we fly to Rome. What are some great places to visit and what is the cheapest route to travel to Rome? Which city should I use to fly from to Rome?
Thanks in advance!

From Alicante what should my itinerary be for Spain. We like beaches, a little bit of history but not too many museums maybe just one museum.
Is it easy to go to Seville, Granada from Alicante? How would I make my way to Barcelona.

If you only have a week innSpain and want to visit Sevilla and Granada I'd budget 4 nights for Sevilla and 2 for Granada. You can fly between Sevilla and Barcelona. Is there a reason why you need to arrive into alicante? It would make more sense to arrive into Malaga or even Madrid for good connections to Granada and Sevilla.

Air Europa's flights from Valencia to Rome connect through Madrid. Some flights connect through Palma de Mallorca (PMI) then Madrid, making for a long day, or two, if you have to overnight in Madrid. Flying Barcelona to Rome is much quicker, but not on Air Europa, which connects through Madrid.

kellieR--as to what do do Invest is a good Spain guidebook (e.g. Fodor's) and read about Sevilla and the surrounding area. With only three days, you'll find you have a lot to do.
That being said, the Cathedral Giralda (belltower) and Alcazar are all near each other and are musts, the Museum of Fine Arts has many Spanish masterpieces, and there are some interesting neighboorhoods and beautiful churches. If you're into Roman ruins, there is a huge one not far from Sevilla, and there are lots of interesting places near there for day trips.
You could make a day trip to Malaga, which has good beaches and good seafood and there are probably other beaches near enough to reach in a day trip from Sevilla, but not having visited them, can't recommend one. Huelva is supposed to have some beautiful beaches and is not far.
Again, get a good guidebook. Sevilla is one of our favorite cities.
