Paris hotel emergency !

We're leaving for Paris in eleven days. On our last two trips we've stayed at Hotel de Lutece and loved it so much that I've booked us there again. My wife reminds me, however, that since I'm not quite the "sound" sleeper I used to be, that we really need a room with a queen size bed, two double beds or something similar. It doesn't sound like the Lutece can accomodate such a request. In somewhat panicky fashion I've been searching on the net for a Paris hotel that has some real charm that can offer us larger than standard beds. So far I'm finding only hotels with junior suites for 500E per night or plastic looking properties that no Fodorite has ever posted. I'd be happy to pay 250E per night for the right place but I'm running out of time. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I do know the Muguet has a queen bed but the odds are you will never get it at the last minute as it is popular. The Hotel Odeon has one in your range and is a good location

You might try some of the hotels in the Exclusive Hotel group, like the Royal on bd Raspail. I know they just redid that hotel a couple years ago so might have queen beds, and it's not mentioned as often in guidebooks so maybe not as full.

that bedroom photo for Jardin le Brea (a nice hotel) sure looks like at least a queen size bed (prob two twins together, as well as the Sainte Beuve, why can't you use that if you are willing to take only one queen bed?) If you will take a queen you should not need two doubles instead of two twins pushed together to form a king, which is more common in some hotels.

What about trying laterooms.com to see what properties can accomodate you at this point?

I don't know if the Muguet would have availability but it's worth it to ask. They have triple rooms.

Thank you for the suggestions w/respect to the Muguet and Odeon. Have admitted to my panic, I remembered that "when the going gets tough, the tough go to the bookstore". I've just found a book entitled "Special Playes to Stay: Paris Hotels" by Alastair Sawday - a wonderful little book on real Parisian hotels with lots of pix and details. I will start e-mailing up a storm. In the meantime, any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks!

The Paris Hilton is offering a very unusual prepaid rate of 99 Euros per night for much of April (probably about 40% of the typical rate). I would think that's a fairly likely place to get two beds of the type you need, or one larger bed.

Look at http://www.hilton.com and see if you find anything useful.

I guess you would sacrifice charm, but on the other hand, I would definitely sacrifice charm for better sleep.

My 2 daughters and I just returned from Paris last Sunday and the last part of our trip we spent at Villa d'Estrees. Our good size room consisted of 1 twin and plus 2 twins that were together, however they could also be separated. At the time they had a special going at 220 Euros. www.paris-hotel-latin-quarter.com.

I thought you were writing from your hotel room with an urgent plea for help.

Mr Travelwell, I seem to remember posting to this dilemma on another thread, but I will repeat myself~
The Lutece offers (offered) a queen size bed in that room on the top floor overlooking the street, and on the 5th floor overlooking the street, the beds are twins, pushed together. As I questioned in my previous post, what difference does the bed make, a snoring husband can still be heard if he is in a larger bed.
My advice was something my stepmother told me that she did to my dad, she taped a tennis ball/pingpong ball to my dads back, and he went to bed. Any time that he tried to roll over on his back and have a good loud snore, the ball bothered him and he rolled back over on his side. She says it always works..good luck~sweet dreams~
ps*
a friend stayed at the Intercontinental Grand over by the Opera House and he is very tall, they had a Queen bed..the room was also quite large with high ceilings. You might want to check that~

Thanks to everyone for your advice (although I think I'll skip the tennis ball).
