Outrageous but not Ridiculous

...or should this be ridiculous but not outrageous? Seeking a place to stay in Paris near the Louve - The Ritz, George V, etc. all are most appealing, however seeking something closer to $500/night rather than $800. Would appreciate something more modern, chic, sleek, if someone would make us aware of where that might be.

I suspect your budget is out of most posters' budget but try a relais chateau book that will be for you.

Try the Park Hyatt Vendome. It's described as new, modern and sleek. I've seen prices in the $500 area.

I'll admit this isn't really the kind of digs I have personal experience with -- and I would have thought all of those hotels would have rooms around $500 a night. I don't know of any deluxe hotel around the Louvre that is exactly sleek and modern.

My one thought is the Hotel Pont Royal on the Left Bank on rue de bac. I think it is that style and in that price range and isn't really very far from the Louvre.

I would say that those prices are both outrageous and ridiculous. But, as long as you are happy that is the bottom line. There are diffent modes of travel.
Go with whatever makes you comfortable.

I've a friend that enjoys the Montalambert in the 6th...he says that their services (concierge, etc.) are very gracious... he and his missus could stay anywhere their little hearts' desired. Of course, nozy me, had to check out its website...looked nice, chic and modern to me!

Have you looked into the Hotel Costes?
It's in the first, very sleek and chic.
