I am thinking about spending my last night in Italy with my Husband in naples since we will be flying out of that airport (the first part of our trip is being spent in Rome & Positano). I am a little worried aout naples b/c I heard it is a bit dangerous. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

N,
When I was in Naples, I really wanted to visit Caserta, the Italian Versailles, but just couldn't fit it in. I believe it's about a 1 hr train ride and I work with people who have visited it and say it's amazing!
Naples itself is well worth spending your precious 12 hours....

Pompeii or Herculaneum and the National archaeology museum in Naples itself.
Naples does have a reputation for being dangerous, and parts of it are a little seedy (the train station for example), but I love it. It is just about the most chaotic place I have ever been, but the vast majority of people I have met there have been among the friendliest and most hospitable of any I have met in Italy.
