Learning French in France, help pls

I saw a segment of "Getaway" on the Style Network where they showed a place in France where you can go with your family and stay for 7 days or so and speak French, order in French etc, in addition to having intensive French classes everyday. Family members who don't want to participate don't have to and they also have French cooking lessons.
Does anyone know what I"m talking about because I can't remember the name of the place and I'd love to look them up.
Thanks!

you might want to try the Style website (if you haven't already done so)--they should have info on recent programs or, if not, email them your inquiry.

good luck!

I have a friend who runs a language program in a French village each year. Here is her website:

I don't think you would live with a French family, though. Students find their own accomodations. It might be too late for this year. This is a small program run by one person, who happens to be great, of course, being my friend and all.

I thought I wanted to take a French immersion class this September, but gave up on the idea. There were many many programs to choose from and it was difficult to evaluate them. The following web site seemd to have good information on programs throughout France: http://www.fle.fr/

there are many programs to answer to your situation. Go to www.provenceweb.com and when there, gastronomique, or seminars. I have several emailed me and found what they wanted.

My husband and I are soon going to visit Bordeaux for a couple of weeks to take part in the language classes at BLS.

http://www.bls-frenchcourses.com/versGB/index.html

I also found the following websites useful/ interesting to get a feel for the options though prefered to book directly with the university in question:

http://www.languagesabroad.co.uk/
http://www.francestudyabroad.com/dir/french/index.html

This one also looked interesting and also does cookery, as you stipulated.

As I didn't see the programme you mention I've no idea if any of these are the ones you're looking for.

PS Make sure you check when looking further into the options as some places don't accept kids and others do.

I believe what you are referring to is the Ecole des Trois Ponts, near Roanne. It offers French language and cooking classes in a chateau (you can stay there too). My family is going to France to take language classes next summer, and this is one of the places we are considering. If anyone out there can provide some personal experience about this school, please let us know. Thanks!

I spent three weeks at Ecole des Trois Ponts this last September, taking the intensive French course. Loved it. If you have any questions, please ask me. Sandy

I have used

http://www.nrcsa.com

The National Registration Center for Study Abroad, they offer an enormous range of programs in nearly every language under the sun. You can choose to study for 2 weeks to entire semsters. You can stay with a family or rent an appt. I really enjoy their programs!
