July Flight--Book Now or Wait?
My daughter is flying to Paris to meet us in July. She still has not bought her ticket because we were all hoping the fares would go down after Easter. (I don't know why we think that...but it sounds like a hopeful possibility!) She can get a fare on Delta / Air France from Birmingham, AL- CDG for $1090 right now. 7/1-7/11 are her dates. Using your magic crystal balls, should she buy now or wait? She could also fly into Brussels and out of CDG. Thanks in advance.
(BTW, I have been OCD for over a month looking at fares...bookingbuddy.com; itasoftware, Orbitz, etc. I think I have covered almost every travel site including consolidators.)

I think she should buy unless you want to gamble and don't care if it goes even higher, which it well could. I wouldn't expect that airfare to go down. You probably know that is already about the lowest fare you can get for that route, and other carriers are even higher.
As comparison, I bought my RT Paris ticket for July(nonstop Air France) about a month ago for $925 from the US east coast. That same ticket is now $1170 on Air France, and more on other airlines. There are some with one or more stops that are a little less in my case, but that won't help in yours since you already have one stop.

wren, in late February I bought our July tix for JFK-CDG and the price was $825 (direct on Air France). I thought the price was high then but it keeps climbing. If I were you I'd "just do it" and not look back. Just think about being in Paris in July~
Good luck!

We ended up getting an Air France flight at perfect times for $1098. Since we purchased the ticket last night, I have felt like a weight has been lifted from me...not having to be burdened by looking for fares 24/7 in hopes that prices have improved. Even though I told myself I wouldn't look back, I did. I just had to go back on Air France tonight to see what the fare is and lo and behold tonight it is $1320!!! I know it can still easily go the other direction, but this reconfirms my relief!
