Duodo Palace
Palazzo Sant Angelo
La Calcina
Carlton & Grand Hotel
Your comments are greatly appreciated.

For *this* May?
Unless they have already told you they have availability, I be very surprised to hear that you're able to get a room at P. Accademia or La Calcina. You might get lucky and hit a cancellation, but I tried them both for mid-May over a month ago, and they were booked.
If you type "Giorgione" or whatever hotel name into the text box at the top of this page, you'll pull up many threads mentioning them.

You need to book such hotels at least 6 monthes ahead. For example, Accademia was booked for this May by last November!
PS Tripadvisor is not be be believed. Many of their posts are placed by hotel owners themselves or represent the views of backpackers who have totally different standards.

I've stayed at Pensione La Calcina twice and loved it! It's gotten quite popular so check availability ASAP.

Stay at the Hotel Campiello ([email protected]) Perfect location just off the water and perhaps a 2 minute walk along the wharf to St. Mark's Square. Very friendly, rooms are nice, affordable, adn quiet which is rare for Venice. Enjoy!
