Pensione La Calcina in Venice

My wife and I are traveling with another couple all in low thirty's to Italy for 2 weeks in late Oct. We are going to spend about 2 days in Venice before heading to Tuscany. Has anyone stayed at the Pensione La Calcina? Any help is greatly appreciated

Lots of people on this board stay there and like the hotel. As sandi indicates, it gets great reviews on tripadvisor. If you mean this Oct. it would be surprising to find they had room. What other help would you like?

Or put La Calcina into the search box; it will bring up dozens if not hundreds of threads. La Calcina is one of the most popular Venice hotels on this board.

Stayed there twice - loved it!

The hotel has gotten extremely popular (maybe from all the positive ravings on this BB & someone I believe even mentioned Rick Steves which is the kiss of death for finding room availablity) and people seem to have trouble getting reservations lately.

Having said that, it has an excellent location on the Guidecca canal, near a vaporetto stop and easy to reach from the train station, beautiful rooms and furnishings, efficient staff, nice breakfast included, room prices are a good value, private rooftop terrace available. It's a gem, that is unfortunately not a hidden one any longer.

Get reservations ASAP!
