Hotel options in Munich - comparison/input requested

Looking at various hotels:

Courtyard City Center
Tryp Muenchen
Conrad Hotel de Ville

Trying to stay under or near 100E per night for period 12/5 to 12/8. Other recommendations are welcome

I liked the Courtyard since it was located between the Alstadt and Oktoberfest grounds. Obviously, I was there during Oktoberfest!

Clean rooms and helpful, friendly staff. No lovely views though.

We were in Munich mid October of this year. I had hotel points and selected ArtHotel in Paul Heyes Strasse. it is not a fancy hotel but the room is decent and clean. I paid 85 Euro, breakfast and wifi included and it was good food!. They had cold cuts, all kinds of breads and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, fruits, yogurts. Also, good about this hotel is location. It is near Haupbanhauf (train station) which also has lots of eateries. The hotel is also about 10 min walking distance to Karlsplatz and Marienplatz which is where the action is. I will come back here again esp. if we comeback for Oktoberfest.

Courtyard is well located and gets very good reviews on tripadvisor.com.

Tryp does not get very good reviews.

Should have also mentioned that other posts on this board have noted getting rates for around $55 USD at the Courtyard using priceline.com

Do a search and you should find the tread, I believe it was fairly recently.

Courtyard is one of three 3star hotels in the area that come up according to biddingfortravel dot com. Also includes the Tryp and the Leonardo (which is in Geising) so it's a crap shoot on PL.

Arthotel is not available (who are they affiliated with that you can use points?)

Anyone know the Conrad (also called TOP conrad)?

I have the tripadvisor reviews, but would like real first person experiences too. Sometime TA reviews are terrible and the place is OK, sometimes they are great and the lace is a dump, but I do use it as a guideline.

Thanks all

We were very happy with Pension Linder. Excellent location a block or two from plaza, free wireless and breakfast for under 100 euros.
