hotel in rome

Looking for a clean and reasonably priced hotel or short stay apartment in Rome for a few nights either side of other travelling in Italy

Arriving by air and will be in Rome for a few days before taking the train to Livorno for a couple of months and then another night in Rome on return. Something not too far from the train station. Clean, safe and comfortable. No surprises.

Any suggestions?

What precisely do you mean by reasonable - in euros? How many of you are there? When will you be in Rome?

Hotel Giuliana, very reasonable, congenial English speaking staff, nice neighborhood, a comfortable walk from Termini for this woman of a certain age with luggage.

We stayed at a VRBO rental last Sept and would recommend, http://www.vrbo.com/311161. Very clean and convenient to the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Roman Forum, and Colosseum.

Hotel Smeraldo-A/C,rooftop,in a convenient and great neighborhood of Campo D'Fiori which is one block from Piazza Navona and Pantheon area.It is a 3 star for good prices in a convenient and easy to get around location for all of Rome. It is also right next to Largo Argentina which has the tram over the Tiber to Trastevere.Check it out in various guidebooks and on Booking.com and Tripadvisor for reviews!
