Help with Rome to Praiano on Oct 1
I am looking for some help on getting from Rome to Praiano on October 1st (This seems to be the date many of the schedules change). We were planning on taking the marozzi bus directly from rome to praiano, but looking on their website, it appears to stop running September 30. I was looking for help with other possible options for this trip that would be most direct, but avoid the costs of a private car and driver. Thanks

Hi,
I did not know there was a direct bus from Rome to Praiano. Anyway, you can take the train to Naples and change to another train to Sorrento. At Sorrento you take a bus. The bus and train station in Sorrento are together, so you do not need to walk far. I am not sure it there is a train that goes from Rome to Sorrento without having to change in Naples. I have taken the 2 train and a bus method and it was fine. Also, I have heard that you can take a train from Rome to Salerno and then a bus to Praiano. I have not done this. Have a wonderful time.

We took the train from Rome to Naples and then had a driver pick us up and take us to Praiano. We also did the reverse at the end of our trip.
There is a local train that will go from Naples to Sorrento, but I'll let someone like Ira talk about that as we didn't go that way.

Just a though-If you decide to take the Marozzi bus, you can also try getting off the at Meta, before you go all the way into Sorrento, and get the SITA bus to Praiano at the META stop, which would save time. That is, unless you plan on getting a taxi from Sorrento to Praiano.

Hi B,
I would do things in this order:
A. Train to Salerno, ferry to Positano, Orange bus to Praiano.
B. Train to Salerno, ferry to Amalfi, SITA bus to Praiano.
C. Train to Salerno, SITA bus to Praiano.
D. Train to Naples, Limo to Praiano - about 100E.
E. Train to Naples, Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, SITA bus to Praiano.
Ferries will be running on 10/1
For Ferry schedules Positano – Amalfi - Salerno (P.zza della Concordia):

Hi Bob, the inly info I have right now (I'm in the middle of packing!) is that I took that bus and it stopped in Sant'Angelo, Meta, Vico Equense, and a couple of other towns on the way from Sorrento to Rome, so I think it must make the same stops on the way to Sorrento. THe Sita buses also stop in Meta on their way to Praiano from Sorrento.
