Hi Melissa,

I saw both, and I would suggest staying up in CapriTown, where all of the stores and restaurants are. In the evening, CapriTown really quiets down with all of the daytrippers gone. There is nothing really near the Hotel Weber, although it looks like a nice hotel, so it will be very inconvenient.

I stayed at La Minerva and liked it, but I would go back and stay at the Hotel Luna next time b/c it was just a tiny bit more money, but better located in that it was one street below the main street, rather than La Minerva, which is a ten minute walk. Also, Hotel Luna has a really nice pool that you can use or have lunch at, and has a beautiful garden too.

Can I recommend a restaurant or two in Capri? We just got back and really enjoyed 2 restaurants. I would go to the Aurora and the Biberius in Capri.

Please also see my posting that I have on Capri - I have to post the rest of it later today, but just follow the thread with the word "kiki"!

Hi KiKi,

I have read all your postings....and LOVED and PRINTED the postings.

I booked LaMinerva. I tried Luna at the beginning and they were booked. Weber gave me 3 different prices, so I didn't get a good feel. I will be in Positano and Ravello and plan to use all your helpful information. We are staying at Villa Rosa in Positano and Brittanique in Naples. We leave in two weeks. Can't Wait!!!

Thanks, Melissa

Melissa,

Good choice going with La Minerva. So glad that you find my postings helpful. Try to ask Villa Rosa for room #18 in advance - you are going to thank me 100 times over! Please let me know how the Brittinique is b/c we didn't have time for Naples on the last trip.

I promise to get the Capri info up today! Have a great trip, and bring great walking shoes and sunglasses (although they have really cool ones there to buy at great prices).

Kiki

Hey KiKi,

I also have reserved Limosine 5 Star to pick us up at the naples airport and take us to Positano. The rest of our stay we will take buses and trains.

My question is? Why should I email Villa Rosa and ask for room # 18?

Thanks,

P.S. I look forward to hearing more

Hi Melissa,

When you get off the train in Naples, you walk toward the train station area, and at the end of the tracks is where 5 Star limo met us, holding up a white sign with our name on it - I liked being able to find our driver immediately.

Are you going to ask them to take you to see Herculeanum on the way to Positano? It is well worth Euros to see this on the way, b/c if not, you have to backtrack on the train, etc. which takes forever. You can see Herculeanum in 2 hours - just get the audio tape and buy the little red book with the plastic overlays at the bookstore.

Herculeanum is much better preserved than Pompeii and less crowded, plus this site was a seaside resort, so the homes and grounds were really spectacular, before Mt. Vesuvius erupted about 2000 years ago!

Have a fabulous time!
