Europe hotels

Hi everyone,
After much research these are the hotels we booked for us (and our 2 yr old daughter) for our trip to Europe this april.
We can still find other ones (nicer/cheaper/better located etc.) if necessary as there is enough time before cancellation policy kicks in. Wanted to get feed back from the board members here. I should mention our price range is between 90-100Euros/night.

1. Salzburg: NH Salzburg
2. Brussels: Radisson SAS
3. Paris: Best Western Le Nouvel Orleans
4. Barcelona: Hotel Montblanc.

Would love to know all kinds of information about these hotels, what to request, about the breakfast/places nearby to eat/ etc. etc.

Also, if you think that these hotels are not nice/others are better for the price please let me know--I would really appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Regards,
Barna

Hi. I haven't stayed at any of these hotels, but do have a suggestion. There are two web sites where you can look up hotels and find reviews people have written. These are "real" people who have stayed there.

tripadvisor.com and venere.com

You can check the hotels there and see what you can find. You could also type the hotels into the search window at the top of your Fodor's screen. There may be comments written previously.

If you don't get any comments, you might consider reposting mentioning Salzburg, Brussels, Paris and Barcelona hotels in the subject line to help interested posters find you.

Just a couple suggestions. Hope you find your answers and really hope you have a good trip. I think it's wonderful you are taking your daughter. Europeans love children so you'll probably meet lots of people who are charmed by her.

Good luck.

SalB,
Thank you for your tips.
We will look into venere.com...had already looked at tripadvisor--

You are right I should probably post with individual places in subject line.

Thanks again,
Barna

Hi Barnade

Regarding Paris: Best Western Le Nouvel Orleans

It looks like a nice, modern International hotel.

You will be taking the Metro a lot.

Have you considered anything in the 5th and 6th?

Hi I would suggest you visit the http://www.airtours.de
its a local tour operator which offers quiete a nice range of boutigue and classic hotels for a package price throughout european cities.
You can pay easily with credicard, breakfast and taxes are included.

It's a very good choice to compare direct prices of the hotel which are always much more expensive . Also they can arrange transfers, guided tours etc.

I am staying in this same area in April, and have done a good bit of research.
The le Nouvel Orleans is directly across the street from metro stop: Mouton Duvernet. This metro runs N/S thru the center of Paris, with several 'connecting' opportunities. Line 6 runs thru Denfert-Rochereau toward Tour Eiffel and Arc de Triomphe. There are 2 bus lines running in front of the hotel, and a 3rd one just south where Ave du Maine branches off. The RER Line b is about 3-4 blocks away taking you to Gare du Nord or CDG. Gare Montparnasse is very nearby, and Metro by the hotel also runs thru the Gare.

The main 'tourist' sights in the immediate area are the Cimitiere Montparnasse, Tour Montparnasse (panorama from 59th fl, 8Euro), and the Catacombs. There are the 'literary/art' cafes at Metro Vavin, and also Closerie des Lilas.

Avenue General leClerc, rue Brezin, and rue Mouton Duvernet have a number of shops, cafes, restaurants, florists, newspaper kiosks, etc to provide window-shopping opportunities. Rue Daguerre is a daily market street, and Edgar Quinet holds one 2 days a week and on Sunday it has an artists' market.

Here are a few of my 'findings' for the immediate area (there are many more such on blvd Montparnasse/Raspail/Edgar Quinet):
McDonalds (if that will help with your little one): 5 avenue du General Leclerc
Pascal Champ: 5 rue Mouton Duvernet
(these 2 restaurants are listed in either Zagat or "Great Eats&quot

Hope this is useful info for you.
