In Buenos Aires there is a big musical going on about the life of Edigh Piaf. Very good.

Somewhere in the guts of the Clignancourt flea market there is a place that has a singer specialized in that. But that's not even really Paris -- that's the suburb of Saint Ouen.

In Paris, I can't think of a single place currently doing that, although some of the muscial bars must have that sort of thing at least one night a week.

When I think of tourist places like rue Mouffetard, I think more of annoying violinists going from restaurant to restaurant to spoil everybody's dinner.

They don't really do stuff like that in Paris, it's more like what tourists think Paris is rather than what actually is Paris now. There is nothing like that on rue Mouffetard at all.

There are two places in Paris where I've heard Edith Piaf songs: Au Lapin Agile in Montmartre and Au Limonaire, a chansons club in the 9ème. But it's not as though it's a whole evening of Edith Piaf, just the occasional song, at both.

I was thinking of the Sunday dancing across from that church-- not all Piaf of course, but at least some, and the other stuff is similar.

There's always Nice, where a woman singing Piaf songs wanders through the Cours Saléya.

Across from St-Medard Church at the bottom of Rue Mouffetard on a Sunday morning. Musicians. Someone hands out printed song sheets and the crowd sings along. People dance, all ages. Lots of Piaf songs. Weather permitting, of course.
