Covadonga Souvenirs

My family and I just returned from 15 days in Spain, one of which was spent at the beautiful Covadonga .. a place we have been once before. We purchased a snow globe for our 4 year old son ... the only souvenir he wanted, and I failed to put it in our "checked" baggage on the return flight and instead carried it in our hand held luggage. (yes, I knew better, just got distracted while packing). There was no problem, going through the Security in Madrid.. but when we landed in New York City, then airport security at JFK airport noticed it and made us throw it away. ... a snow globe violated the safety laws.

Of course when we returned home and started unpacking, the first thing my son asked for was his snow globe from Covadonga. We have not told him yet that it is gone ... but we are trying to find a replacement on the internet, but have had no luck. It was not expensive .. only 7 Euros at the gift shop at the Catherdral .. but it has the Santina in it, so finding something similar, is near impossible.

Do you have any suggestions?

thanks .. alexis

close .. but no snow globe shown. You are better at "googling" than I am ... I searched and searched and never saw this.

thank you for your help ... let me know if you happen to see anything else.

thanks .. alexis

Here is their contact information:

http://www.santuariodecovadonga.com/comocontactar.html

You could try emailing or calling them to see if they will ship a new snow globe to you.

Alexis,

Any chance that you will write a report about your trip? I always enjoy reading about trips in Northern Spain.

Yes ... that is the plan .. we have been back about 10 days and are catching up on life and trying to get Christmas put together. I will have to figure out how to add pictures to the Trip Report.

thanks for your interest.

I love Northern Spain.
