Recommendations for restaurant in Paris for Steak au Poivre

My daughter is looking forward to having steak au poivre while in Paris next week. Any recommendations for where? We're staying in the 7e and are on a budget... I'm hoping to spend no more than 40€ per person for the meal. We also need a place that we can get a reservation on short notice (as in the same day).

Any other cafes or bistros we should consider trying (or stay away from) in the Marais, Montmartre, St-Germain and the Latin Quarter? Our budget for most meals is very limited.

Merci!

Ginette Boyer at "Au Petit Tonneau", 22 rue Surcouf in the 7th has been serving an excellent steak au poivre that should fit your budget if you go easy on the drinks.

Brasserie Balzar, on rue des Ecoles, is an upbeat place with friendly wait staff. It may be near your hotel? Steak au poivre is available at most of the Brasseries and many bistros. But it will typically be one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. The standard steak/frites is a cheaper cut and can be found at all the cafes etc. With steak in Paris, you get what you pay for.

We really enjoyed L'Epoque, just off Place de la Contrascarpe, 81 rue du Cardinal Lemoine... vintage decor with very good food at low prices. On our last trip, we had our last meal there, and it was wonderful. "Entrecôte grillée ou au poivre,h.verts et gratin dauphinois" is included on their €25 menu (3 courses).

Another favorite nearby in the 6th was La Ferrandaise
