Does anyone know if you are allowed to take those propane curlers on the airplain?

I don't think so because they are explosive/flammable -- that category of banned things.

Leave the propane home.

Why not leave the curlers home completely - IMHO vacation is way too short to spend time fussing with hair. Just get a no-fuss do and you don;t have to carry all that stuff around with you.

Several years ago I asked Delta. You can take ONE of those little cannisters on Delta. (My luggage was inspected by Delta last week and they found the one cannister and said nothing so I assume the rule is still the same!)

Just get a dual voltage (see www.conair.com, but they are available nearly everywhere in stores) and an adapter plug. They work much better than the propane models.

I hope you're not allowed to take propane on the plane!

Curlers containing propane fuel, classified as a "flammable" are NOT permitted on board the aircraft. See, TSA's website on what can and cannot be brought on board the aircraft, or can be packed in checked baggage-www.tsa.gov- "Prepare for Summer Takeoff" click the PDF file for "Permitted/Prohibited Items." You will see that any kind of fuel is prohibited.

I hope this isn't too personal, but may I ask why you prefer the propane curler, and what sort of styling you use it for? Maybe we could help you think of a good alternative.
