We leave one week from today for Paris. Then we're on to Rome...if Alitalia can manage to stay in business until then.

I thought I would be really excited at this point, but now this Alitalia thing is just stressing me out. Boo!

shelly_m....I am with you. A week to go for our trip and I am a wreck. I always stress out just before a trip. So hang in there and I'll wave to you on the streets of Paris in a week or so.

Two months until a two week sojourn to Paris, Provence and the Riviera with 14 members of my immediate family.
Half of our family have been to France multiple times, but look forward to introducing our husbands, wives and kids to the beauty, history, food, beaches and lovely lavender of france!

We will be going to London for the first time in about three weeks. One of our sons was asked by his company in the states whether he'd be interested in going to London for three months to work on a project. The opportunity for him was just too good to pass up. So we decided to visit him and also the city.
I am most looking forward to seeing the wonderful museums, Westminster Abbey, The Tower Of London, St Paul's Cathedral, just to name a few. We'll try and see as much as possible in the 7 days we're there.

I am still reading guidebooks and checking out the London threads.

Dejais and Clio:

We're leaving in about an hour for Paris.

Good luck on your last few days of preparation. We'll see you 'round the Eiffel Tower.

Have a great trip, y'all.

As for lucky posters who are soon on your way, you know it is even fun to read posts that say " I'm leaving next week" or tomorrow or as the last one ,, in an hour!! Have fun!

We should have been sitting in IAD now, waiting to board for a flight to AMS. However DW discovered a medical problem last week and we had to cancel. Now the countdown is back to 12 months.

Next Tuesday, 4/29 leaving JFK to Rome. Visiting Perugia, Lucca, Bellagio and Stresa. Returning home from Milan on 5/15. This is our fifth trip to Italy.

It's time to stop fiddling around with the trip details and just file the paperwork until next Tuesday. Now it's time for my hair and my nails!

bozama... we don't give away our island!!! It is quite lovely though - and fairly quiet in May-June.
We love Greece - our 2nd home... it's where both of our Muses live.

Lucky you only 16 days. From this Thurs it will be exactly 5 weeks until our departure for South Africa and Botswana ( not doing the falls).

Yes, for us too, something brand new.

Can't wait, jumping out of my skin!!

We are leaving in 3 days for Paris (w/o kids!). This is our 4th trip to Paris in 7 years. We are ideally city people who love art, history, walking, good food and wine, and have become smitten with Paris. This is to celebrate our 15th anniversary and my DH's 45th. We are looking forward to all of the above, a first time day tour with Michael Osman, holding hands like we used to do before our 2 young children and dog, and 2 challenging careers. Our good friend are going to be there to by chance, so will be sharing 2 dinners with them also.

Washington DC on business in May & June. My nephew (10 yrs. old) will be there with me for a few extra days...should be fun.

Scotland & London in Oct with the sisters. We all used our airmiles for reward travel. I had the most so I am traveling business/first with Continental. However, my oldest sister had back surgery late last year, and although she is doing well, she cannot sit or stand for long periods or she gets very stiff. So, I am going to surprise her for her birthday next week & tell her she can have my seats.
