In 1993 we stayed at an Intercontinental Hotel in London, I know that it was close to Marble Arch and very centrally located, but I don't recall the address...Now there are two: One called Churchhill Intercon. and another called Intercon. London.

There is also one that was formerly the Intercontinental Mayfair (that now I fear may be the one that we stayed at) now called Radisson Edwardian Mayfair!!

I am so confused!!!!!! I know I have not given much info. on its location, but hope that someone could help.

If anything, maybe someone could tell me about what they thought of the Intercontinental London, because that is the one I am leaning towards booking.

The Churchill is close to Marble Arch. In the early 1990s the Britannia on Grosvenor Square was also an Intercontinental. It is now, I believe, a Millennium Hotel.

The one in Mayfair was on Stratton Street, very near Berkeley Street and Berkeley Square. We've stayed there several times, but unfortunately it is a Radisson--prices have gone way up and Tripadvisor has bad reviews. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Mayfair on Picadilly and Berkeley last month. It was wonderful, not at all like a U.S. Holiday Inn.

Have stayed at the Holiday Inn Mayfair a couple of times...just a few steps from the Green Park tube and a few minutes' walk to Piccadilly Circus. The rooms are fairly small..if you do stay there try to get an inclusive breakfast.

I believe you stayed at the Churchill. I have stayed there and I know it is near Marble Arch on Portman Square. If you go to Intercontinental's web site you can pull up the hotel and all the details.

If you indeed are interested in the former Churchill Intercontinental, you cannot retrieve any information from the Intercontinental website anymore.

The Churchill has been acquired (or is at least under management) of Hyatt and is now named The Churchill Hyatt Regency.

Go for the Mayfair Intercontinental, a lovely property in a superb location. The Churchill, regardless of ownership, is a bit too far above Oxford Street in my opinion. From the Mayfair Intercontinental, step out the door and it's, "Hello Green Park, hello Hyde Park, hello Park Lane..."

The Mayfair Intercont'l is now a Radisson. Prices have gone up, and service has gone down. As one cab driver told us last week, "They are charging 5 star prices for 3 star service." Check out recent postings on Tripadvisor.

I live in London, I would never ever touch an Intercontinental nor a Radisson. These hotels are for businessmen who don't care about what they are paying as it all goes on their expense accounts. That said, if you must go to an Intercontinental, the one at the Picadilly end of Park Lane is the best one of that brand in the country.

Choose Claridge's if you want the premier Mayfair hotel, or the Ritz if you'd like a Green Park/Picadilly location or if you'd like a bit of both - The Lanesborough offers excellent all round facilities.
