Well, personally, my ideal Irish souvenir would be Colin Farrell. ;-)

CD's of local musicians. So many make and sell their own music now that you can usually buy them on the spot when you hear someone play. Sounds really bring back the memories for me.

I bought a beautiful Claddaugh ring with three small emeralds in the shape of a shamrock. It is my favorite souvenir from Ireland.

I liked Smithwick's so brought a pint glass home. How about a painting of an Irish landscape?

Art, every where we went we found a place where you can buy a small print of the area. On Saturdays and Sundays in Dublin you can find local artists selling their pieces. We set the limit at no more tha 30 Euros per items, and were quite surprised at the loveley pieces we brought back, each a reminder of the areas we visited.

The temperature dropped about 20 degrees today, and I'm wrapped up in my Eddie Doherty blanket purchased in Ardara. I love it. Saw, but couldn't afford, beautiful crafts in Carrick-on-Shannon. Got some beautiful jewelry in Whichcraft in Dublin.

Hi josie23. Lucky you...leaving Saturday for Ireland!!

Some favorite souveniers of ours --

CDs of local musicians. They're great souveniers of fun evenings in the pubs.

The linens and lace from Kenmare were a favorite of mine. They make nice gifts & they're easy to pack too. lavender sachets, tablecloth & napkins, table runner. I bought my mother a beautiful linen nightgown & matching robe but she thinks it's too nice to wear! Oh well!

Guiness mouse pads! I would never have thought to buy these but friends at home requested them and they are very cute, especially the one that says "It's a Lovely Day for a Guiness!"

Earrings, rings, silk scarves and a silver frame, all with celtic designs.

I bought a beautiful red wool cape for myself and I love it.

I agree with the poster who mentioned local artists. While in the Connemara region, we bought a small oil painting of a thatch roof house with the twelve bins in the background and it is probably my favorite souvenier of Ireland.

Have a wonderful trip!

I was in Ireland in July, and my best purchases were at Tig Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula. It's a little restaurant/gift shop with great prices. I bought sterling silver jewelry, scarf, pill boxes. They had tons more! I saw the same jewelry at other places at higher prices.
