Berlin in November
Have a chance of going to Berlin in Nov. What should I expect weather/activity wise? Is it an interesting city to visit? Been to many other cities in Europe and Russia, but not here.

Weather wise November is not a really nice month to visit. Already short days and usually grey skies. As Berlin has a fairly dry climate it does not rain that much, though. Activities are same as in March or August (well, maybe except for swimming in the lakes) as nothing shuts down.
I guess some people find it an interesting city to visit. Actually, Berlin ranks #3 in Europe, behind London and Paris.

I lived in Berlin for several years and November was one of the dreariest months of the year. However, that gives you a good excuses to spend time in the wonderful Berlin museums, cafes, etc.
I think Berlin is one of the most interesting cities in the world and is definitely worth a visit, even in November.

Berlin is one of the vibrant cities of the world. You'll have the streets and museums to yourself.
Winter seems like an optimal time to visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

Last time I was in Berlin in November it was rather late in November (around US Thanksgiving time). It was overcast and cool during that visit but the extensive Christmas Market stuff was up and running including the "toboggan run" at the Potsdamer Platz; the KaDeWe had its Christmas decorations up also.
Museums weren't as jammed as they are in summer and there's certainly a lot to see and do in that city despite and weather issues.

Berlin is a fantastic city with a tone to see and do and I would definitely not miss it.
That said, November is not the best weather - but perfectly manageable if you're practical when you pack. An, frankly, most of the sights are indoors anyway - and I bet some of the cafes have outdoor heaters so you can still have a beer and watch the world go by.

<I like Berlin a whole lot more than I liked Paris. >
Ditto that! Headed to Berlin for trip #6 in December.
Personally, I am not a big fan of the area at Potsdamer Platz. It is quite commercial - hence the Marriott being located there - and at night not much is happening.
We prefer to be in Mitte near the Gendarmenmarkt and will be staying at Melia Berlin for the 3rd time this next trip. Also have stayed at the Westin and enjoyed it but Melia is our preference.
