I was curious is anyone is considering Sardinia this summer? I'm interested in
"must see" places, "must try" restaurants,
"must check-out" beaches... and verious itinerary.
It seems to me that most of the people are staying on the main land.

I'm going for 10 nights in August; 3 nights Cagliari, 3 nights Alghero, 4 nights San Pantoleo (near Costa Smeralda). I've been pretty slow in coming up with a real itinerary, but if you click on my screen name, a few months ago I came up with a tentaive one. Tonight I'll add some of the places that I've read about to this post that are "must see."

I spent last August there and I'm going to spend this August there again. It's full of must see and do places, is really an incredible place. If you go in August I'd avoid the entire north side of the island (Alghero to Olbia) due to the crowds.

I think I remember some posts by you stating that you have friends in Sardinia? Any chance you or them have ever heard of http://www.rent.it ??
I may be getting an automatic car from them and am curious if they are reputable. Actually, I am unsure if they even have any automatic cars. Their site seems to indicate that they are all automatic, but when I e-mailed them I found out that this is not the case.

Nope. We just use their cars. Sorry Finding an auto will be a problem, it's even tough on the mainland I read.
